Weekend 2, Day 2 Good & Bad Experiences

Dr. Closen story update: 14 with good endings, 16 with bad endings.

I really enjoyed hearing about the Focus on Results professional development. It sounds like a very worthwhile plan and something I wish my school was doing? Also sounds like a great way to get the community (or in this case a business) to buy into the educational process. Does Caterpillar do anything like this for schools around the Peoria area?

Brown County is very fortunate to have DOT foods in the area. It sounds as if they invest a lot of funds into education and find it very important. I found it interesting also that a school board member also has ties with DOT. That obviously helps by having someone with a vested interest in education in that role. Many schools are not that fortunate and are faced with the task of finding funding through grants and small donations from area businesses. I wish that more companies sought out educational institutions and invested in education and the future. They need to realize that an investment such as this is only going to help them by helping with their future workforce. Oh and by the way it sounds as if the good may soon outnumber the bad :-)
